A virtual assistant manages supplier data in JD Edwards
Nobody handles the roughly 420 monthly requests by hand any more. A robot updates supplier data in JD Edwards and replies to requesters.

The starting point
The company handled around 420 requests a month by hand, at about 15 minutes each.
The solution
- The robot creates, updates, deactivates and reactivates supplier data in JD Edwards. It works from an Excel form (XLSM) that arrives via ServiceNow.
- It checks the form's version, accuracy and completeness, including SQL queries to the JD Edwards database.
- It prepares the data for the reply and updates the request status in ServiceNow.
- It sends the requester a reply that includes the supplier number from the Address Book application.
- After three failed attempts at any step, it alerts the operators.
The result
- Time saved and better data quality from day one.
- After the first process, the team went on to automate four more.
Working with the XELTO digital team was exemplary.
